SMG supports Colleges, Universities and other organizations having a common interest in Spanish Pool Checkers. Challenging mind games along with proper rest help maintain and improve reasoning skills. SMG supports the use of mind games as a mental exercise that help your brain stay fit as you age. We also want to have fun.

Sparta Mind Games, Inc. Mission

SMG strives to make a very big difference teaching Spanish Pool Checkers to our youth thus expanding our fan base and helping them develop lasting friendships with their elders. SMG is making ourselves available to Colleges, Universities, and other organizations seeking to display pool checkers as a part of our Heritage at their events. SMG Sponsors public checker tournaments and events in the USA and supports public checker events by organizations World Wide.

Sparta Mind Games is a Domestic Nonprofit Corporation established on November 04, 2008 under Title 14 of the Official Code of Georgia (USA). SMG uses its tax deductible donations to sponsor and support public training and events of Spanish Pool Checkers. Verifiable public events that have this specific mind game will post in our Newsletters and on our website.

There are thousands of organizations, each with a specific purpose or goal. There are so many reasons why one should consider becoming part of an organization he or she believes in. By building an effective website, we hope to get our message out to a larger audience of people interested in similar games.

Sparta Mind Games is a connection point for all organizations wanting to display Pool Checkers as a part of our Heritage at their event. With the use of membership fees and donations we are maintaining this website to train our youth and some adults to play pool checkers. We will continue to place videos and pictures on this website for everyone's enjoyment. Our goal is to provide a website for our youth and adults to enjoy and learn about this Mind Game that is very much a part of our Heritage. Our efforts to teach our youth the art of logical thinking through the use of mind games, will help our youth make good decisions throughout their lives. It's free to review the videos and pictures on this site that shows a life long love of a mind game by elderly men. Your donations will help to continue our efforts. Mr. Calvin Monroe is our 2009 and 2010 Sparta Mind Games Top Master Champion. He has also won the United States Top Master Checker Championship eight times. This is more wins than anyone else living. He has defeated everyone who has challenged him to a match. He is the current United States Champion.

Calvin was taught by Valdimir Kaplan who was a great Russian Grandmaster checker player who was the champion of Europe and the Soviet Union. Calvin has also been a great strength athlete for years dating back to his High School days. He had Olympic potential but never competed. His all time best squat powerlift is 585 pounds. Calvin served over 23 years as an Atlanta firefighter before retiring.

Calvin loves the game of Pool Checkers and promotes it wherever he goes to play. Calvin is nick named the Iron Claw in rememberence of Charles Hamilton a former great checker player out of Atlanta. Calvin gives God the honer, the praise and the glory for his success.
